PharmaVoice Viewpoint Response from Wilson Learning
by Celeste Mosby
This question was recently asked by PharmaVoice: Given the shifting pharmaceutical landscape, what do you believe will be the biggest trend impacting training in the coming year? In five years?
Celeste gave this response: Today’s Pharma training environment has changed; in addition to traditional training, there is a new demand for offering virtual learning platforms to the field. Companies are responding by leveraging technology to engage learners over a continual learning process that focuses on about 20% theory and 80% experiential application. Tools such as on-demand and live webcasts, interactive on-line activities, coaching checklists, and comprehension tests will continue to be more widely used as a best practice over the next year. Over time more training will be field based so arming District and Regional Managers with training content/tools which integrate customer communication platforms as part of the sales process, will build more powerful customer relationships. Consistent processes for applying business acumen training to the use of sales analytics data will also help in making more strategic decisions regarding sales activities.
